Vaudeville-Style History Tour/Meal/Tour

Tour, eat, shop and laugh at Falcon Rest, the Victorian mansion where history is fun.

Called “Tennessee’s Biltmore” by PBS, this 10,000-square-foot mansion in McMinnville, Tenn., was built by Clay Faulkner, manufacturer of Gorilla Pants – “so strong even a gorilla couldn’t tear them apart.” Faulkner’s home had all the “modern conveniences” when it was built in 1896 – electric lights, indoor plumbing, central heat and more. Today, the National-Trust-award-winning property is filled with museum quality antiques, and some say it’s presided over by a friendly ghost – perhaps the proud builder himself.

Our visit includes a rib-tickling account of the mansion’s history by the charming “Victorian Gentleman,” a delicious meal served in the elegant Victorian Carriage House dining room, a leisurely tour of the mansion without ropes or barriers, and shopping for 1890s treasures in the Victorian Gift Shop.

(Add this if your visit includes the step-on tour)
The Victorian Gentleman will then board our motorcoach to escort us on a fun-filled tour of local history, highlighted by the beautiful waterfalls at Rock Island State Park.
