Falcon Rest
2645 Faulkner Springs Rd. * McMinnville, TN.  37110 * 931-668-4444

Falcon Rest is an 1896 Victorian tour mansion "where history is fun."  It was built by entrepreneur Clay Faulkner to entice his wife to move next to the woolen mill where he made Gorilla Pants -- "so strong even a gorilla couldn't tear them apart."  Called "Tennessee's Biltmore" by PBS, it had all the "modern conveniences" -- electric lights, indoor plumbing, central heat and more.  Today, the National Trust award winning property is filled with museum quality Victorian antiques.  Some say it's presided over by a friendly ghost, perhaps the proud builder himself. Guided mansion tours, shopping, and lunch in the Victorian Tea Room are offered 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily year round.  Admission charge.  Special entertainment and meals are available for groups of 20 or more by advance reservation.  Visit online at www.falconrest.com.
